8/7/2023 0 Comments Slitterhead xbox![]() I always ended up thinking that I made yet another game that isn’t scary. Toyama: “First, I believe everyone in this room knows it. How would you rate Slitterhead matching up to your previous creations? Would you say this is your most terrifying game to date? It’s fair to say that you all have made some of the most iconic horror games of all time. But I want to include as many languages as possible.” We already have English, however I can’t say for now the extent of languages that we’re going to add. We’re currently pursuing development in both Japanese and English. Is there a plan for multiple languages support for Slitterhead? We’re thinking of allowing the player to initiate the attacks as well.”Īre there also scenes where you’re pushed to run away? Junya Okura, Game Director: “I believe the question is whether you can fight back. Will the players be able to fight back or is the gameplay going to encourage us to escape from confrontation? I keep in mind to make a game that is accessible.” It’s aimed at players who are not necessarily core fans of the horror genre, I want young players to be able to experience that as well. This is type of challenge that I want to take on for Slitterhead. Instead, I will make something I currently find fun and that is new. This is why I won’t go in that direction again. A couple of decades later, there are now plenty of good games within that genre. ![]() ![]() I believed I had found that in the modern horror genre. When I made Silent Hill, I had this idea that it would be fun to make something that had never been made before. Though as Microsoft continues to expand their efforts in Japan maybe that would be less of an issue.Keiichiro Toyama, Creative Director: “For me, it doesn’t differ that much. I mean people talk about using Bethesda/Tango as a starting point in Japan and going through them for new studios - that may not work if she had a bad experience there. Seems pretty reasonable and honestly just sounds like there was some unpleasantness on Bethesdas part - as much as I’d love to see Microsoft partner up with her it might not be something she is interested in. She took a break then started a studio where she had more control. What I remember hearing was that she struggled with the challenging work life balance under Tango/Bethesda and that it was particularly a problem once she had a child on the way. So idk, I always found that quote she gave really strange Umm isn’t that what you had when you were game director for Ghost Wire? And Shinji Mikami always said the studio was formed so the next generation of game devs (her and John Johanas) could eventually succeed him? Plus Mikami has said he wants Tango to go into multiple different genres and play styles not just horror. So she left for health reasons (who knows can’t question her there), but the other is she wants to create original IP led by her own team. lolĪlso her reasoning for leaving Tango is bizarre and I don’t really believe her. That damn county is half the reason why I’m constantly buried in a backlog. There’s so much talent in Japan, I could honestly talk all day about what ifs and such whether it be an acquisition talk or not. Last I checked we haven’t heard what this team is working on, but they were formed on March 31st, 2021 so it hasn’t been too long. This one was formed by Yamamoto (a former director and executive producer at Sony Japan) who had worked on Bloodborne, Freedom Wars, Tokyo Jungle, and such. I hope it works out for her and hopefully we’ve got another creative genius on our hands.ĮPIGRAsm is another studio to maybe watch out for. ![]() I’m a bit surprised by this one since she seemed pretty unsure of her abilities to run a project, then a couple years later she’s founding her own studio. I’m curious if Toyama and Mikami are friends at all.įor Unseen, depending on how things are shaping up there structurally and if Nakamura left Tango on good terms I could see there being potential for a partnership. I’m not sure if we know who has marketing rights for that game yet, but I think that game specifically could be a good Game Pass title. Depending on how Slitterhead turns out, I could see either Xbox or Sony pushing for a publishing deal with them. ![]() What about new studios like unseen or bokeh studio? Do you think xbox will try to publish one of their games in the future? Because those studios has talentīokeh is one I’ve brought up previously. ![]()
